Deore XT – Where Passion Meets Precision.
With its introduction in the 1980s, the Deore XT series revolutionized mountain biking. And its current iteration more than lives up to this legacy. The revised Di2 design stands out in particular, being now completely wireless and enabling correspondingly fast and reliable shifting. This is not the only point where it ties in with the recently launched XTR M9200 series. With its likewise robust drivetrain construction and sophisticated braking system, the Deore XT M8200 is a groupset that not only effortlessly withstands real-world riding situations, but also redefines what is possible on two wheels.

Grounded In Performance. Thanks to revised bearings and seals, the M8210 hubs of the current Deore XT series not only ensure improved reliability and easier maintenance, but also more consistent and smoother performance. While the cartridge bearings feature adjustable preload, the seals now prevent the ingress of dirt and moisture even more effectively. In addition to increased durability, the result is reduced rolling resistance.
In the FH-M8210 rear wheel version, the rolling behavior furtherly benefits from a lower air resistance. In addition, the hub features a lighter construction and an optimized Direct Engagement freewheel system, which enables a faster response with a pressure angle of up to 3.5 degrees.

Direct Engagement | In extensive tests, various prototypes were compared with a respective focus on drive, lateral and longitudinal stiffness. The result: the drive stiffness has the strongest influence on the drive force. This finding was the basis for the development of the Direct Engagement system, which increases the drive stiffness accordingly compared to the conventional pawl structure. This is achieved on the one hand by a larger contact surface and on the other hand by the toothing, which, thanks to its spiral shape, engages more tightly when the drive forces are applied.
