WH-RS710-C46 – The perfect all-rounder

Typical Shimano, the WH-RS710 wheels also benefit from the technology concepts of the in-house high-end series. Thanks to the same DNA that already distinguishes the wheelsets of the Dura Ace R9200 and Ultegra R8100 groupsets, the models at the level of the 105 R7100 series are also full carbon wheels that combine the balanced performance of the role models with a low price.

All Shimano WH-RS710 wheels are united by the perfect synthesis of aerodynamics, low weight and stiffness, which offers a completely new riding experience. However, while the C32 version (32 mm profile height) focuses on acceleration and hill climbs, the C46 variant (46 mm profile height) presents itself as the first-class all-rounder. Just as practical as comfortable is the compatibility with the proven 11-speed as well as the new 12-speed road bike cassettes.

D2 rim design | Aerodynamic performance is affected by wind direction. When developing the D2 rim profile, Shimano’s engineers took both headwind and crosswind into account to ensure optimum performance under real-world riding conditions. Extensive prototype testing in the wind tunnel and on the road has shown that a wide rim shape and deep rim well offer the best performance under a wide range of conditions. At yaw angles from 0 to 15 degrees, the D2 rim design reduces drag better than other aerodynamic rims. It also increases the wheel’s lateral stiffness and improves vertical directional stability, resulting in more control, comfort and durability on the road.
